Why Very

I’m Meltem, the founder of VERY.

In a world that constantly asks us to be very, very successful, very beautiful, very rich, very perfect. It’s easy to feel like we have no choice but to keep chasing more, or risk feeling less than others.
For me, Very Candles is the one place where I choose to be very, very present, very real, and very myself.

I was born and grew up by the Mediterranean Sea, where fragrance and feeling are inseparable. I’ve always connected life’s moments to scents. Since childhood, I’ve loved how every smell could hold a memory. My grandpa reminds me of chocolate and tobacco; my grandma, of roses and fig trees. Summer reminds me of sea salt and watermelon, and winter of sun-warmed tomatoes from my friend’s greenhouse.

Every candle I make is inspired by these memories. Small stories poured into wax, meant to bring warmth, calm, and connection into your space.
